Upon seeing pictures of my completed Bombalurina 2k1 costume, my friend Lala exclaimed that I MUST wear it and attended the Halloween dance later that year. I (who avoids school/social functions like the PLAGUE if at all possible), after some nausea, capitulated under the condition that SOMEONE go with me in something equally, *ahem*, "a-typical" (typical Halloween "costumes" there being [ooooh, ahhh] a black hiked up miniskirt, fishnets and overkill eyeliner/black lipstick). That someone quickly became her ;)

About a year earlier we'd toyed with the idea of making her a costume, but those plans fell through - the character she'd shown interest in was Cassandra. She's probably the only person I know who could actually pull off a Cassandra, too (tall, thin, striking and dramatic - o yes, I hate her ;)) and since we only really had about 6 weeks to make the costume for her at the time, the relative quickness of it (once everything was planned) was a bonus.
