Jellylorum 2k ...Among the list of "costumes I really really wanna do (...if/when i get the time/money)" (for those curious, also on the list are Skimbleshanks- which I now have planned for late 2001/early 2002, Sillabub- but a 5'10" sillabub would be... odd, Macavity- but I'm waiting till I have more experience with the fibres which make up a big part of his appearance) was Jellylorum, as I'd grown a fondness for the character and really adored the north american version with her bright yellows and fairly unique markings. After seeing the show for the first time on Broadway in spring 2000, during which, in "The Naming of Cats" Jellylorum (Jean Arbeiter) came to stand less than 2 feet from my seat for most've the number and i got a wonderful oppurtnity to eyeball the costume up close (thinking "must... resist... urge... to poke at!") with all the softer light yellows and pale peache colours and earthy brown and black, I said "Ok, that's it, I am going to make a costume like that!"..... So, I did. Costume components:
